Tuesday Tabs #37

What with being ill last week I had a little time spend mindlessly browsing the Internet, so I have a few nice things this week. I had been wondering - as I mentioned in my last Tuesday Tabs post - whether to be a bit more festive but I think it's best to stick with it how it is and as it comes.

I've been thinking about how posting on my blog will work over Christmas while I'm away as I want to get the most out of my holiday as possible rather than spend so much time on a computer, saying that, I will probably spend a couple of hours an evening online, unless there's not Internet access at all, might be quite liberating. I'm pretty excited, it's just two weeks tomorrow until I head off and there's so much to cram in before that, I desperately hope I've shifted this cold by then, it's the worst!

[via Buzzfeed]
This photo is from a great set by Fubirai about the feral cats of Fukuoka. It's amazing how versatile animals can be.

My Mum only came back from Hong Kong on Friday and I was missing her a lot in the last month or so. This video really made want to be over there with her, so many neat sights that I've been to and ones I've yet to see!

[Woop Studio]
I love this print from Woop Studio, it's part of an awesome A-Z 'collective term' series, which would be perfect if we hadn't basically run out of wall-space this weekend :3

[via Kate Bartolotta]
Definitely something that should be included in part of my New Year's resolutions now that I've not got much left to worry about.

[What Katie Does]
Owhh, I'd love this print to call my own - apparently I'm feeling a little more cat-crazy than usual this week, and it comes at a time when Doll's being really naughty and I have to keep telling her off.

[TUFT]

[Urban Outfitters]
We picked up a great throw from Ikea at the weekend and it's really pulled the lounge together, much more so than the old one and so much cosier, but this one was another one I had my eye on if I was feeling particularly flush on pay day.

  • Mashup Illustrations by Justin Hillgrove — I've seen a lot of Justin's Where The Wild Things Are/Studio Ghibli tribute floating around for the last week or so, and it's so cute.
  • This Dance Routine for Michael Jackson's 'Dangerous'. — I think Dangerous is one of my favourite MJ songs, sometimes I find myself forgetting that he existed because I don't listen to him that often but then I remember and it's like tune after tune after tune! This dance routine is particularly boss too.
  • What Katie Does — I only discovered Katie's blog a couple of weeks ago, but you know when you find a blog and you just want to root through it? She posts great photos, lifestyle posts and has such lovely kitties, she's fast becoming my new favourite.
  • 31 Advanced Photography Tips to Help You Advance as a Photographer — I always like to school myself up on things like this, especially in the lead-up to shooting events. It's interesting to learn to tips and see how other people do things even if they won't be something I'll eventually use.
  • Fro Design Co's Mythical Beasts Travel Posts — My favourite is the Big Foot one.

    Tuesday Tabs #36

I feel like this week's going to be a good one but I'm super sleepy already and it's only Tuesday! I'm starting to feel more and more festive as the real countdown for Christmas draws in, how about you? I'm really looking forward to payday weekend already, with the promise of a trip to Ikea for decorations, I'm excited.

Here are some of my favourite finds from the last couple of weeks ♥.

["Hunters: Charks an' Kittehs" by Kozyndan]
When we were in Brighton at the weekend we saw this print in real life in Art Republic, at £62 a month thanks to the Own Art scheme, I must admit I was really tempted, it was just so huge. Isn't it the best though, that beautiful oriental print and cats, perfect. Kozyndan consist of husband and wife team Kozy and Dan (geddit?), actually before seeing this print and looking it up later I actually saw I'd seen some of their other work before and love it then too. I really like their style and if I had a whole spare wall I'd make this mine.

The video for Mumford & Sons new single, 'Lover of the Light' is beautifully shot. It's always kind of satisfying to see the video for a song you've been hearing for a long time. I remember how great this sounded when I heard it at my first Glastonbury, and I can't wait to hear it again when I see them in Portsmouth on Thursday.

    [Urban Outfitters]
A new throw is something I'd really like soon as the current one is a little worse for wear. We're thinking of getting a new sofa in the new year hopefully one that won't really need a throw though so I'm umming and ahhing over how much I really like this one, but those bicycles sure are cute.

    [Gemma Correll]
Gemma Correll perfectly summing up how I feel most mornings at the moment.

    [Shanalogic]
I like these because my cat hates coasters and I love meme cats.

    [Ligamentum]
I love these rustic wooden napkin rings, I wouldn't allow myself these until we had a nice dining table though (and napkins, obviously).

    [Gracey May]

    [Pretty Dreamer]

    [Rob Ryan]
I think Rob Ryan should just do everything, there I said it.

    [River Island]
I want to wear more clothes made out of fabric like this.

  • Tumbleweed Houses — I was sent the website for these neat tiny houses by lovely reader, Laura, aren't they cute? I think I'd definitely prefer a smaller home to a larger one.
  • Kaylah's Brooch Collection — I love Kaylah from The Dainty Squid's posts about her collections and they really make me wish I had a hobby. Her photos of her brooches definitely made me a little envious, she has as many adorable brooches as she does dresses.
  • Stickygram — I had plans to talk about my Stickygrams in a proper blog post at the weekend but it's so easy to run out of daylight for decent photos that I'm going to hold it off for a bit. I think you should still see them though, they're so neat, basically you connect your Instagram account and for just $14.99 - and super-speedy delivery - you can have a set of 9 of your photos on adorable square magnets, a must have and a great stocking filler idea.
  • For Luna — The prettiest retro swimwear.
  • Felt Christmas Ornaments — Really simple but effective Christmas decoration DIY, I'm so tempted to make a huge one.
  • Cookies & Cream Marshmallow Bars — These are really high up on my must-make list. Making anything with Oreos is always so easy and tasty.

    Tuesday Tabs #35

    Good evening,
It feels a bit like it's been a while although I know it hasn't really. I've been quite busy/lazy, which is usually the case. I've got a list as long as my arm of future posts but they can wait for a little bit, I'm hoping to get around to it all after a good night's sleep tonight as I've been a bit silly with my sleeping pattern recently and it's left me feeling exhausted by this time of day.

Did you have a nice weekend? We had a few friends over to eat chilli and peep over our fence at the fireworks display at Newbury Racecourse, it was a super way to spend Saturday night and was great to see everyone. My Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 arrived at the weekend too, I'm still getting to know it but I'm well and truly in love and am looking forward to introducing you.

Anyway, here are some of my recent Internet findings, have you found anything interesting recently? Now that Guy Fawkes Night is over, I'm well and truly looking forward to Christmas. Only six more Tuesdays to go before it's here, what a quick year it's been and yet so much has happened!

    [Wild Ridge Design]
Here's my first slice of Christmas for my blog. I think we're going to go all out with decorations for the little flat, even if I'm going to be away. I'm on the hunt for a wreath although we're thinking of making our own, the colours of this one are beautiful.

    [MekaWorld]
Although not a big of George Clarke himself, I'm really into George Clarke's Amazing Spaces on Channel 4 at the moment, how perfect is this modular home? So tiny, but so great.

    [Sea of Beas]
This bison locket is so nifty.

I know this has been used a lot in a lot of things recently but it's a really nice song, I've listened to it about four times today...

And this is another I've been listening to non-stop I almost forgot it existed until signing up to Spotify again last week. This recording is nice too.

    [Michael Muller]
I spent a lot of time on Sunday afternoon nursing my head and perusing Michael Muller's awesome online portfolio. Obviously he's a pretty big deal but I was impressed with image after image and I like it when that happens, so I figured it deserved a mention.

    [Alex M Lynch]
Right after I post this up and after I've had a shower, I'm actually going to get right back on sewing my own case for my tablet, but this one sure is pretty so if I do mess this up - in the way only not knowing how to use a sewing machine can - then this is always a pretty alternative option.

    [Elukka]
Sometimes I really wish that I loved gardening as much as I love flowers, these flower pots are so cute!

    IAmKritch]
I think it will be nice to get decorations from all over and build up a collection rather than buy a huge box of 'okay' baubles, this would have made a sweet addition to our Christmas tree but sadly it's already been snapped up. I also have my eye on the holiday armadillo.

  • Inside Nook and Cranny — This is a pretty recent discovery, but looks like somewhere right up my street, Nook and Cranny is an adorable little shop within Liverpool's creative hub, The Bluecoat and looks right up my street. Liverpool is somewhere I'd really love to head to for a weekend, this is definitely second on my list when I do get around to visiting - after The Beatles museum, of course.

  • Custom Photo iPhone Case DIY by Oh No Rachio — This is the most simple DIY ever, I can't believe I never really thought about it before. I've never really thought about clear tech cases before but they sure are a great way to help add your own stamp to things.

  • Container City — Speaking of George Clarke's Amazing Spaces, the awesome Container City was featured last week, it reminds me a lot of Boxpark, such a great idea, I love the idea of discovering storage techniques as I'm not a huge fan of massive spaces.

  • Cat Nail Art Tutorial from Syl and Sam — My nails are super-short at the moment but I can't wait to try this out!

  • F***! I'm In My Twenties —Although there's a lot of personal anxiety surrounding this Tumblr blog, I think a lot can be said for being thrown head first into you twenties and not really having a clue how to react to it.

  • Cute Chipmunk Photos from The Dainty Squid — Kaylah is so great at photographing animals if I had my hands on this little guy he would probably just run away.

    Tuesday Tabs #34

I'm quite happy to make this something that's every so often rather than every week. I don't usually get a lot of time to browse nowadays, let alone post about it. But here are some of my favourite finds this week. I think this will be perfect to refer back to come payday.

    [via It's Nice That]
This is from the series, 'Perhaps Finally Alone' by Photographer, Elisa Noguera, this is my favourite but I think the whole series is really neat. Plus I bet it was a great excuse to spend some time with cute critters.

[Swanky Catz Baseball Shift Dress, Drop Dead]
Definite appreciation for Drop Dead's latest cat-centric collection.

    [Cat Rabbit Plush]
How sweet is this scalloped necklace?! It's really different from anything I own and perfectly represents how I think I'll be feeling as the nights draw in, it also comes as a twin brooch set, which I have my eye on too.

    [Rebekka Seale]

    [Stash]
I am in desperate need of a more robust, 'proper' camera bag, as I'm a terrible snapper and just pop my cameras in my handbag at the moment. I don't want to compromise to much on the look of the bag, but it will ne nice to have something that is better at protecting my cameras as autumn and wintery walks become more frequent. I still have my eyes firmly in the direction of Jo Totes, but the pattern of this pag is lovely I like that it's fabric rather than leather.

I always leave Dry the River gigs feeling overwhelmed and I know I've been talking about them a lot since forever but particularly recently, but I just think they're wonderful. Every time I've seen them, Pete's vocal on 'Weights & Measures' gets me, it's so desperate and beautiful. Obviously this isn't a recording from when I saw them at Gathering on Saturday but it's one of my favourite recordings of this song that I've heard.

    [via FYeahArtStudentOwl]

    [Clare Owen Illustration]
How sweet is this simple, splodgy cat illustration?!

    [via This Is Colossal]
I've been dying a little over these adorable outfits worn by 'Trotter' taken by Sonya Yu. I've been even more animal-crazy than usual in the last week or so, I think mainly thanks to a short bout of cabin fever, but also thanks to Moon's, 'well I wouldn't mind a smaller dog' quip, which he probably won't ever live down now.

I can't decide if this is a good advert for this car or not, but the cat is nice.
    Link Love: ♥
  • The Fake Books from The Royal Tenebaums — A lovely list of large images of the books from The Royal Tenenbaums, it would be really cool to have a couple as posters, as if I haven't littered the flat with posters enough already.
  • Scrimshaw Dessert Plates from Supernice — I spotted these when peaking into the window of Supernice when I was in Rye the weekend before last and thought they were really pretty. A little too pretty to eat off of but we have a little thing for seaside things.
  • Lampshades from Laura Oakes — One of the very few downsides to our little flat is that we don't have much need for lampshades, when we finally get around to moving somewhere else or buying somewhere, these will be perfect.
  • Nation of Amanda's 'I Want All The Cats To Love Me The Best' T-shirt — I'm certain that I've mentioned this before but I keep coming across it and it's becoming more and more of a must-have, it's too cute.
  • This Dino Skirt from Drop Dead — I wish this was a midi-skirt rather than a tube skirt as I'm not 15, but I feel my wardrobe is distinctly lacking in dinosaurs.
  • Gemma Correll's Ampersand Print — I'm so happy to have found this again on The Curious Pancake as I thought it was gone forever when it sold out on Gemma Correll's Etsy shop.
  • Daily Dishonesty — A wonderful Tumblr blog filled with perfect typography and things we should perhaps be more truthful about.

    Tuesday Tabs #33

I couldn't start this without acknowledging that I reached 100 readers today. It makes me so pleased as my blog has changed so much over time and I never really started this desperate for people to read it. Saying that, I'm super pleased that you are and while 100 is a piddly amount compared the thousands of some of my favourite bloggers, it's such a satisfying number, quite a cosy amount I'd say. I'd been stuck at 97 for a little while and it stressed me out a bit. So thank you for reading and I hope you stay. ♥

I haven't done one of these posts in a few weeks as Tuesdays seem to be the longest days ever for me at the moment, but Chrome is begging me to purge my recent Internet finds. It seems a little silly to make one of these when I have other things to talk about, but I want to if nothing else then for my own self referencing, I find it quite useful.

    [Buy Olympia]
Gemma Correll is one of my favourite artists in close second to Mr Rob Ryan. Her work always makes me chuckle and she always alternates between pugs and cats, perfect.

    [Gemma Correll]

    [Modcloth]
These are kind of like clown shoes but aren't they so cute? I love the colours.

    [Girl's Got Plaid-itude Dress, Modcloth]
I'm not usually a fan of high necklines on dresses as I find them a little constricting, but this dress is so perfect. The autumnal colours are perfect for the changing season, and I definitely don't think I have enough plaid in my wardrobe at the moment.

    [Urban Outfitters]
They had these in 'proper' Pug colours but they sold out in less than a day! These ones are a pretty close second and I'm ridiculously tempted.

    [1canoe2 Letterpress]
I wish I had the time to organise all my favourite recipes, this would be the perfect way to do it, I'm such a sucker for pretty lettering and paper.

Even though this finished over a month ago, I'm finding myself obsessed with it without even watching it. It's so fun to reference and after seeing Jeff Daniels in Looper, I've just decided that he's one of my favourites, even if he is in Dumb 'n' Dumber.

It's definitely been far too long since I last saw these chaps (shall we say nearly two months?), I'm pretty excited for Gathering on the 20th.

I enjoy this meme a lot. It reminds of the cat that lives at the end of my mum's road, such a wonderful face.

    [via Jamesy Design]

    Link Love: ♥
  • Pixar's New Site for Monster's University — Everything Pixar does (apart from anything to do with Cars) is always great and this gave me a good giggle. I'm pretty excited to see how 'Monster's University' turns out.
  • Shutterstock's Tips for Pet Photography — I love taking photographs of animals, they're hard work and they're fun but you can end up with something awesome if you have enough patience. Surprisingly, this might also come in useful when we get around to the pet products at work.
  • Thomas Birke's Photos of Hong Kong — These photos really make me want to go there again soon, they're so beautiful. A little envious of my mum right now.
  • Hopscotch Pin — I need to wear all pins but how great is this one? I wonder if I could get away with hopscotching still.
  • Wes Anderson's Film Colour Palette — Pretty doubles up nicely as a tool for picking out complimentary nail polish colours :)

  • I hope you've had a fabulous Tuesday, mine was mostly spent working from home after some other things didn't really go according to plan. I don't mind where I work really, I've actually been a lot more productive here than I thought I would be, plus it's been great to be brought massive cups of tea on request.

I think tonight will consist of some Breaking Bad, How I Met Your Mother, and the Tuesday night essential, Great British Bake Off, Tuesday nights get pretty wild in our tiny flat. Moon also made soup from the chicken we had the other day, yum!
