Sunshine + Mushroom
It wasn't that the flat was full of art, not by any means, but we did have a certain amount of frames on the wall. Now we're 'doing up' the house, there's a lot of bare wall space to think about.

Some of the things that used to be on our walls have been relegated to keepsake boxes, other things that have been waiting to be framed for years are still waiting. Even though we've no shortage of things to put up, there's always more to find and a quick browse of Etsy has me full of ideas for our future gallery walls.

Friday Finds.

TGIF! Isn't it wonderful that the sun is going to finally shine this weekend? We've decided to postpone the gathering we had planned in favour of a bit more quality time together, something we haven't really managed to fit in around our recent house guest and being so busy going other places to visit people and having people visit us. I definitely think a lie-in is in order, but we haven't really made any solid plans yet, other than to collect Moon's Glastonbury ticket from the post office, pretty exciting!

I haven't done a post like this in a little while, and I guess that's a combination of not really wanting to spend my time browsing online when I spend all day at work in front of a computer, as well as not really being inspired by anything in particular that I've seen. That said, after going to the Soho Flea Market last weekend, my hunt for pretty things has been revitalised slightly, so here are some things I'd like to share with you ♥.

How sweet are these lamb salt & pepper shakers? If only salt & pepper shakers were more disposable or more acceptable as ornaments, I would replace my pug salt & pepper shakers, at least for spring/summer, in an instant.

I think I'm catching Moon's compulsion to love all things wooden. First my Designosaur triceratops necklace and now I'm really lusting after this custom-made wooden name necklace. You know, because my huge Tatty Devine name necklace doesn't fulfill my need to own things with my name on.

Since seeing such pretty ballon-centric things on my recent trips to Bristol, I've become a little obsessed. I love Ally from Now That's Pretty's post about the Hot Air Balloon Party she had and she also did a great tutorial for making your own. I'd love to have the time to make my own, but this little kit seems like a happy medium and has potential to not result in a total #PinterestFail twist.

Shiny Spring: A Mini Etsy Wishlist

My recent spring cleaning kick (read: never not mopping the kitchen floor and generally running up and down the flat like a mad woman) has had me really in the mood for a declutter, which in my mind kind of means a bit of a reclutter once it's all done - which means I've spent a lot of time looking around for lovely home things - I'm super into storage right now, so I can hide the stuff I wasn't feeling mean enough to get rid of.

Etsy was a pretty good place to start - and Pinterest, I've been 'pinning' a lot more than usual - and it's spring, and it's been winter forever so I figured I'd share some of my favourite Etsy spring finds with you - I realise they're not necessarily 'springy' but I love the bright pastel colourways that finally become acceptable once this lovely season arrives. I'm so looking forward to getting rid of the stuff that I never even used before I moved let alone since.

Apart from the occassional bunch of flowers to brighten up the place, the only plant I have inside my home is one very sad looking spider plant, my mum did help me bring it back to life a bit and I'm hoping with time it will grow and now I'm hoping for more. I noticed how many lovely plants my Gran has, and I know it's my Gran and that's what old ladies do but it really lifts my mood to see greenery and I think I've learnt from my mistake.

The last piece of 'furniture' that I really want is a rug, and a nice one. This Etsy shop makes these felt ball rugs to order and I think they're so nice. I've seen a few huge ones in John Lewis but I like the idea of measuring and picking colours to match my space.

I love the spring colours of this necklace, apart from my sweet Designosaur necklace I haven't really had any new jewellery for a little while and a big clear out is in order/in progress.

Now I've gotten use to opening my sunroof, I really don't want to see the sun go again (see: this weekend's weather report), I think it's safe to say that this is a must-have mantra for anyone living in the UK - a perfect springtime piece though and great for April showers. Definitely big into wooden things at the moment, I think it's the traditional mixed with the contemporary that gets me.

I've felt super-cool driving to work in my sunglasses all week, I love my sunglasses, but how neat are these ones? They're made from recycled skateboards and you'd never know, but now you do, I think that makes them even better!

This is what I wore to work on Monday, I really like it, I didn't even have to wear a cardigan when I lef the house it made me feel so bright and sunshiney. Now it feels like the weather is finally getting better, I feel like I want to make the effort to dress up a bit more. I've just discovered this dress again and it's been such a while since I last wore it. I love the shape, it's so flattering and different from other styles I have, plus it's my favourite colour and goes so well with my Converse.
It's a shame these tights get so baggy because they're such a great colour, I guess that's the problem with Primark tights sometimes, I usually find that the thicker they are the worse this problem is.

A Little Bit of Love.

Just over a week until Valentine's Day! I actually really like it, I agree with those that say it's commercial but I still think it's fun and I kind of enjoy going out and people watching all the couples who genuinely are out for the sake of it rather than because they actually like each other.

Moon and I don't really do much for Valentine's Day other than get each other cards and pop out for a nice meal so I find it a little odd that there are so many Valentine's-themed gifts floating around at the moment. That being said, I'm a sucker for love hearts, commercialised love day or not. So here are my favourite picks of Val Day treats from Etsy, it's been a while since I've done one of these really but what better excuse than when I can make it adhere to a theme?

I feel like this week's going to be a good one but I'm super sleepy already and it's only Tuesday! I'm starting to feel more and more festive as the real countdown for Christmas draws in, how about you? ["Hunters: Charks an' Kittehs" by Kozyndan]

When we were in Brighton at the weekend we saw this print in real life in Art Republic, at £62 a month thanks to the Own Art scheme, I must admit I was really tempted, it was just so huge. Isn't it the best though, that beautiful oriental print and cats, perfect. Kozyndan consist of husband and wife team Kozy and Dan (geddit?), actually before seeing this print and looking it up later I actually saw I'd seen some of their other work before and love it then too. I really like their style and if I had a whole spare wall I'd make this mine.

The video for Mumford & Sons new single, 'Lover of the Light' is beautifully shot. It's always kind of satisfying to see the video for a song you've been hearing for a long time. I remember how great this sounded when I heard it at my first Glastonbury, and I can't wait to hear it again when I see them in Portsmouth on Thursday.

A new throw is something I'd really like soon as the current one is a little worse for wear. We're thinking of getting a new sofa in the new year hopefully one that won't really need a throw though so I'm umming and ahhing over how much I really like this one, but those bicycles sure are cute.

Tumbleweed Houses — I was sent the website for these neat tiny houses by lovely reader, Laura, aren't they cute? I think I'd definitely prefer a smaller home to a larger one.

Kaylah's Brooch Collection — I love Kaylah from The Dainty Squid's posts about her collections and they really make me wish I had a hobby. Her photos of her brooches definitely made me a little envious, she has as many adorable brooches as she does dresses.

Stickygram — I had plans to talk about my Stickygrams in a proper blog post at the weekend but it's so easy to run out of daylight for decent photos that I'm going to hold it off for a bit. I think you should still see them though, they're so neat, basically you connect your Instagram account and for just $14.99 - and super-speedy delivery - you can have a set of 9 of your photos on adorable square magnets, a must have and a great stocking filler idea.

Felt Christmas Ornaments — Really simple but effective Christmas decoration DIY, I'm so tempted to make a huge one.
