A Little Bit of Love.

Just over a week until Valentine's Day! I actually really like it, I agree with those that say it's commercial but I still think it's fun and I kind of enjoy going out and people watching all the couples who genuinely are out for the sake of it rather than because they actually like each other.

Moon and I don't really do much for Valentine's Day other than get each other cards and pop out for a nice meal so I find it a little odd that there are so many Valentine's-themed gifts floating around at the moment. That being said, I'm a sucker for love hearts, commercialised love day or not. So here are my favourite picks of Val Day treats from Etsy, it's been a while since I've done one of these really but what better excuse than when I can make it adhere to a theme?

[Whipped Bakeshop]
How cute is this anatomically correct heart sugar cookie?
Decorative icing is something I wish I was good at, I'm also a huge fan of their pug Valentine's cookies.

[Ladybird Likes]
I've had my eye on a set of Ladybird Likes collar clips for a little while and these heart ones are too cute.
I also love their moon ones but they're not quite lovey dovey enough.

[Shop Miss Ella]
I love big statement acrylic necklaces but have been too covered up in scarves and coats to show any of my collection off.
I love this Peter Pan collar necklace, the stitching detail kills me!

[Back Bay Pottery]
Such adorable little bowls, I could definitely find room in my little flat for these and I love that they're not too obvious too!

[Doux Craft]
I'm hoping that my nails will be long enough by next week to do some cute nail art as it's been quite a while since I last painted my nails. I'm not very trusting of nail stickers, mainly because my nails are kind of small, but these was are almost irresistible I love the colour combination.

[Twin Crafts Knit]
I'm a sucker for silly plushes and this kitty would make a great addition to my slightly embarrassingly large collection.

[MF Jewels]
I've seen a few versions of similar sweaters on the high street and I don't think this something I would actually pick to wear on a Valentine's date, but I do think the heart patch details are cute and easy to get away with every day.

I do love a good pun and I'm finding all these love-based puns a bit much.
[My Zoetrope]

I'm actually secretly a little more excited for Pancake Day, but Valentine's Day is one of my favourites too, even if it's not a holiday at all and my Valentine isn't so secret - speaking of which, I've still not managed to pick up my card for him, oops!

What I Wore: Primary Colours

It's come to my attention that I've got hardly any time this week, with Reading come up in literally two days and due to starting my new job properly when I come back, I think everything's going to get a bit of organisation overhaul. I've got a lot to share with you from the last few days, what with it having been my birthday I've got presents and days out, as well as carbooting finds so watch this space, you haven't quite lost me yet.

I actually took a little hiatus from blogging and the Internet towards the end of last week as I wanted to pay a bit more attention to Moon and just 'be' rather than sit at my computer, a terrible habit I'd managed to get myself into. I think I've kicked my addiction for now so can dip in and out when I please again. So, this is what I wore out to my birthday date with Moon on Thursday. We went to an amazing restaurant in Oxford called Atomic Pizza, and I had the best onion rings of my life, but more on that later, it's such a cool place, I hope we have a chance to go again soon.

Shrug: Primark
Necklace: Vintage
Dress: Topshop
Brooch: Gift, Cath Kidston
Tights: Primark
Shoes: Converse

This dress makes me feel pretty special, although I'm less than pleased with the material, I think it still has something about it. I was all hearts and even had them on my face. I'm always most happy with my outfit when it's bright and I was even happier to be covered in primary colours.

This was one of my birthday presents from Moon, I love it, isn't it adorable? It went so well with one of the other gifts he got me too.

You can blame Moon and not so great lighting for this one, but I thought I'd mention that I've tried two new nail products this week. One being H&M nail varnish, which is probably some of the best I've ever used; it goes on smoothly, looks great after just two coats and has such a great colour range. For £2.99 I can't believe I didn't pay attention sooner. I also picked up some nail wraps in the ASOS sale, I liked the pattern but I'm not sure they really do it for me, in that I'll use them up but won't be buying them again, I'd rather do it myself.

I picked up this notebook in John Lewis at the weekend, I thought I might need a notebook for work eventually and I've had my eye on this one for a while. I also thought it would be useful to jot down ideas - of which I seem to have many at the moment - and schedule myself a bit better. There are few things better than a fresh notebook.

Hearts, florals etc.

It's been a little while since I've done one of these kind of posts, not to mention a first for actually having Topshop to thank for it as I seem to have unintentionally only bought things from Topshop recently - they do have a sale on after all.
First up, are these two pretty dresses, I was sad about having to return the white one as it was such a bargain at just £10, but it was just too big. I adore the floral one though, covered in daffodils, lovely for summer, and such a flattering length - it was also only £10, marked down from £40 in the sale.

I also got this cute necklace, which actually wasn't in the sale for just £4, which I thought was really reasonable for Topshop. I know it's just costume jewellery but I think it so sweet and sits so nicely when wearing it.

It's actually been well over two years since I last ordered something online from Topshop, I think it's the high P&P that puts me off, but I might take more time to scout out bargains in the sale now.

Last of my Topshop purchases, was that heart dress , in the sale marked down from £40 to £20. I've seen this beaut everywhere and I knew I wanted it. Now I have it I know I never would have paid £40 for it as the material doesn't really deserve such a high price-tag, there isn't even an underskirt/slip. I'm already thinking of occasions this will come up trumps for as although I own a lot of dresses I don't have any like this. I actually sent the one I'm wearing in the photos back as it was a little big, luckily the size down was still in stock, and funnily enough arrived yesterday. I opted for the 'tall' version as I know Topshop tends to cater to those leggier than myself, and I knew I wanted it a slightly longer length anyway.

Last, but not least, and kind of unrelated, I wanted to show you the neat, vintage National Geographics magazines I picked up from Newbury YMCA last weekend. I know my sister will appreciate a flick through them as she's currently subscribed but I got them for the pretty advertisements. There are so many more left at the shop, I might have another look, there were a lot of neat camera ads to look at.

Have you picked up any sales bargains lately? They seem to be relentless, not to mention everywhere, quite the treat for a thrifty lady such as myself.

A bit more hearting.

*derp
Doing a bit of link saving, and this has been a pretty good day for finding stuff, despite some how spending a lot of today in leaves and outdoors.
Moon's currently completely disengaged with me and watching the football so I thought that now was as good a time as any to write this.

There are too many nice bags everywhere, and just after I bought this great one, which I also love, owhhh the perils of having an unsatisfactory bank balance.
She's Got Purseonality Bag - ModCloth, $59.99
I think that there might me too much novelty to this bag for me because I have a tendency to get bored, but it's so readily available and fairly reasonably priced, and it's face(!)

Eye Clock - Lazy Oaf, £20.50
Lazy Oaf make the cutest things, they have a great blog and I'm definitely popping to their pop-up Christmas shop when the event rolls around on the 26th. They also have great bags, of which I want all.

Happy Socks Split Dots Pink Socks - Lazy Oaf, £8
Well, I said I was loving Lazy Oaf, I'm really into cute socks rn as well. Kind of getting bored of Primark-standard, and these would look so nice poking out the top of my boots.

Rubik's Cube Mug - Urban Outfitters, £12
Now, I love a fun mug as much as the next person, but I really am beginning to think that Urban Outfitters are missing it when it comes to prices. Topshop has the same problem, I can't afford anything, or at the very least, justify a tiny one-off purchase. While browsing UO's latest offering of Christmas stocking fillers I came across a 'new' Gameboy Original for £80 (EIGHTY)! I mean £12 for a mug is one thing, it might be an unbreakable mug or something, but how old is the Gameboy again exactly? Surely even the hippest of hipsters isn't that stupid, I guess they could make a necklace out of it or something...

I was a bit torn while watching last week's Pier's Morgan's Life Stories, because it meant enduring Piers Morgan. However, pushing on did mean that I absorbed a bit of how wonderful Rolf Harris is and remembered how much I might have loved him as a child. I might have even downloaded an album, and even paid for it, or not, but maybe, definitely...

I didn't really intend to post this, I have some fun photos to show you so I promise things will get a bit more visual soon.
