Two Years with Little Doll.

Happy 2nd Gotaversary, Dolly!

I can't believe that two years have gone by so quickly. It feels like Dolly came into my life at a really important, exciting time and she's made certain things feel easier.

We've moved together, we sleep together and we talk to other - mainly about how hungry she says she is.

She still has a naughty kitten face, still eats all around her, still occassionally tears up all the toilet paper and still only likes to be stroked on her terms. Perhaps that last one is just cats but coming from having a family cat who can't get enough of anyone who'll pay her the slightest bit of affection, it's still a bit strange for me.

I can't believe how much she's actually grown and I haven't even noticed, I'm hoping this is the year she actually likes me a bit more. I guess she's a lot more vocal than she was and she does get crazy-purry-affectionate when I get home from work for all of 5 minutes. She likes to sleep a bit more than she did, especially on our bed and although she comes to kneed us as soon as the sun comes up she's really never anything but sweet.

I do feel a little hesitant of her adventures further afield than our garden but I guess it can't be helped. I'm so happy she's here and is a source of almost constant entertainment, so happy second year to my favourite little Doll - I can't wait to see the small changes in you.

Seventh.

Here are a few snaps of a quick date Moon and I had to celebrate our seventh anniversary together on Saturday night - they're not really too exciting but I wanted to acknowledge this little milestone.
Very strange to think that we've been together this long given that we're still so young and only really beginning to start our life together. We've been through so much and now we're settled in a flat with a cat, and jobs, I wonder if 16 year old me would accept that we'd still be together this far down the line.

Left: Moon's distain at realising he doesn't actually like mojitos.

Apparently this would be our wool and copper anniversary, we don't really celebrate with gifts, and tend to go our for a meal instead, if it doesn't fall on Glastonbury which it had in the years previous to last year.

We went to a little Thai restaurant called Studio Thai in Newbury. The food was absolutely amazing, but they do not do a good mojito. I actually managed to get a little tipsy on just 3 quarters of it, I know I don't go out for drinks very often anymore but that is ridiculous...

After deciding it was too cold and that we didn't want to hang out with 18 year olds in pubs that were suddenly night clubs, we went home and watched 'Mama', not a particularly romantic movie, but it was pretty good, and pretty spooky, a great ending to a nice day of scouting out Glastonbury gear, having a deer visit our garden and waiting until it was really late to go out to eat. I can't think of a nicer way celebrate seven whole years together. I'm glad to share my home and life with such a patient, caring guy, and I hope I'll be able to say the same in another 7 years.

6.

I've actually no idea how it's the evening already, I've totally wasted today's day off, and it isn't as though I got up late or anything. At least I've done some hoovering and the laundry, as well as taking the cat for a walk - productive enough for me. I had a meeting at work earlier, I'm always a bit on edge when I have pop out places for short amounts of time, the meeting's wasn't a big deal, it was just because it was all the way over there and I'm all the way over here. Aside from chores, I also spent a lot of today browsing the ASOS sale, some incredible bargains to be snapped up!

This weekend, Moon and I saw in our six year anniversary, which is mental! We've been together for six whole years, I don't even know where all that time has gone. We've accomplished so much together and been through so much. We've definitely grown up, but sometimes I get a glimpse of the goofy 17 year-old who sent me a text asking me to be his girlfriend and I just feel lucky.

We're in the best place we've ever been, and we're basically grown ups now, co-habiting and everything - I know we did before, but now we're on our own (with a cat!).

I had Friday night off so went to the cinema (lolz), to see Chernobyl Diaries. We definitely should have stuck with romancing it up and watched Five Year Engagement instead because at least that might have been good. I can't even find anything decent to say about Chernobyl Diaries other than the location was great and they didn't even use that properly. I like horror films too, don't get me wrong, but I can't remember the last time I saw a good one, they all seem to be either improvised and/or reality-style. Feeling thoroughly disappointed and bouncing off each others criticisms we drove around searching for somewhere to eat and ended up at this amazing little gasto-pub in Donnington, just outside of Newbury, called Harry's Bar & Kitchen. I don't even want to think about the calories I consumed, but the food was amazing and the staff were incredibly attentive.

I thought this was a nice touch, even it was only tab water, it was much nicer presentation than a jug.

This is what I mean about calories! Deep-friend brie, it was incredible though. I was so hungry by my main course than I didn't snap it, but I had stuffed aubergine with rice *nomz* ♥

This is what I had for pudding but it was just too sweet for me so I swapped it for Moon's sticky toffee pudding. I think it was called a parfait.

Some of this afternoon was spent letting Dolly out in the garden without a lead, it was nerve-racking but okay. Her fur is still not grown back from her operation and I don't think I'll even think about letting her out unsupervised until then.

I hope that parts of this post weren't as soppy as they seem to me. <3

Happy Three Years for yesterday..

So, seeing as we celebrated in Brighton, we did nothing yesterday apart from move things into the new house, which I need to ring the new landlord about as Gabriella gave me way, way too much stuff and it looks like we're taking the piss, even though it's all only been put in the one room of someone who isn't even living there anymore. Should probably be ringing him now..

Anyway, here are my edited images from Brighton, it took me forever to choose, and I still have over 20 here, I don't think some are as good as others, but I'm quite proud of how my editing progressed over the course of it. It's probably quite obvious which ones I started out with.
My whole photo album for Brighton can be found here
There's too many for me to put them into a specific order, but I will try..

These were made from chocolate:

I got to eat crab ♥

As it's obvious, we went to the Sealife Centre, and it's probably quite easy to assume that my boyfriend and I love animals and looking at animals.. it's just a coincidence that we went to Marwell Zoo and an aquarium in the same week. Haha, Marwell Zoo was much better anyway. The aquarium was £2 cheaper but, we spent just over half an hour in it.. I think for the extra £2, it was nice to get a full day out of Marwell Zoo. I'm putting it in writing, Brighton Sealife Centre is dire, I discourage anyone from going there, it's teeny tiny and rapes you of your money, they don't even have massive octopi or sharks.

As I said before, it was a lovely weekend, I only wish we'd stayed there longer. I'm definitely glad that we stayed in a nice hotel as well, rather than opting for a cheapy cheap place, although budget, it still had a bit of something.

I want to live in Brighton, even though I'd be eternally poor, I'd be much happier, or be joining the hundreds of homeless people that seem to live there. Whatever the case, ha, I prefer it to Portsmouth, it was nice to get away.

On a completely different note, fans of The Maccabees should take a look at The Down The Front Sessions Myspace as it has a few nice "acoustic" - although that just means different if I'm honest - versions of tracks..

Also, I watched Human Traffic last night, it is literally an hour and half of nothing, where the hell is the arc? Or is that the point, not that it matters if it is, because it's a shit idea. Just seen that it was made in 1999, how untranslatable is that? No one is like that, ever. It's a shit, shit film. I condemn whoever recommended to me, because I don't even remember.

P.S. I recognise all the cliché images of Brighton - such as the West Pier, but it's got to be done, amirite?
