Thanks, Daily Fail.

Women waste £1.6 billion on clothes.
Not only does this make me think, I probably have way more than 22 items of clothing that I never wear, but also that I do need a wardrobe clear-out and this might be another project idea that gets on my nerves, so I'm unsure about it now.

What I really wanted to do was another simple portrait series based on well known characteristics of recognisable personalities, but it's been done to death, just like stuff with masks. I wish I didn't have to strive to be so fucking individual. Although, without meaning to be a bitch, I'm so far from the worst on my course, even with an irritating idea, I might be ok.

495.

So, I've been drifting around Tumblr for the past week or so and not really getting any ideas flowing for my next project, I'll start properly tomorrow. I also went to Disneyland again, but this time with my sister. It was a lovely weekend away and we stayed in a great hotel and I was so impressed with how organised I was in getting us up and ready and round the parks. My sleeping pattern is on French time, which might be good for my productivity.

I went to Chichester today, it was alright, it's quite pretty but seems a bit small. Moon and I had a great lunch, a great improvement on the dire meal we had at Wagamama's to celebrate his exams before I left.

Done and done.

I've finished, everything is off my back.
I actually finished on Friday but now it feels like I really have because the work isn't just sitting in my room, it's actually gone and it's actually going to be marked. I really hope I do well.

I have about 5 ideas for the next project, and I've already started one aspect of one of them, so I guess it makes that one official. But I don't really want to do anything properly until at least next week.

Tomorrow I'm going on a course social and on Friday I have life drawing. Then, a week from Friday, it's Disneyland again .
P.S, yesterday I learnt how to make .gifs.

Bandwagon.

Got myself a Tumblr
Not sure what I'm going to use it for yet, but I've already made a few posts.
I guess just reblogging things I like and shorter blogging. I'm still keeping this one though because I love it so much and I feel like I've worked pretty hard.

Over.

Best thing I've seen all year.

Last thing I have to do before my hand-ins is get myself a cutting mat to mount one of my final half-Chinese images. I also might get some labels to number the images and match them to their text panels, but I can do that on Monday. I like being ahead of everything. I'm still stressing over the eventual (probably average) mark, but I don't have to run all over the place trying to actually get the work done.

I need to start thinking about the time scale of my next project. I could start it from today, as I purchased something. Or wait until the 1st February so it's during Semester 2. I might do both and see if they think doing it from now is fine or not.
I remember one girl getting told off for using photos that were a couple of months old during Art Foundation, but I guess that is a different kind of course.

Dissertation, done.

Ah, feels good. 9,894 words, 51 pages and just over 4 months worth of work. ♥ ♥ ♥
I'm actually looking forward to getting it printed on nice paper and getting it bound.

I'm back off down to Portsmouth tomorrow. There's so much to sort out before Monday, oh, life.

Next project..

..is gonna be about my spending habits surrounding clothing.
I'm keeping all receipts, photographing the new clothes 'as items' and documenting each outfit I wear once a month for a week. It will last three months and I'm going to show the project in a book with large prints for exhibition purposes.
I'll hopefully be able to just use natural lighting and most of the images will be accompanied by text. The text will include; where the items of clothing are from - shop, town, how much they cost, the weather and the date.

I'm not sure whether I'm going to like what I find, but I'm hoping it will help me in the real world. One of my New Years resolutions is to spend less by giving myself an allowance. This will affect the project, but I am very bad with money so I should imagine that the project will still be doable.

Now to finish off my dissertation - I had to get this idea typed up so I can work to writing it in a proposal, it also helps me to remember that it exists. I was starting to get panicky as I didn't have a solid idea yet and the presentation date wasn't getting any further away.

Claridge's.

For my 21st birthday, my auntie and uncle gave me a gift certificate for 'Afternoon Tea for Two' at Claridge's, guess where I went today?
Moon and I had a wander around Carnaby Street before heading over there.
I could really get used to that kind of life, I think I might ask for it for every birthday. It wasn't as posh/scary as I thought it would be either, which definitely relaxed me.

I don't think I ever need to eat another scone again, the ones I had this afternoon were so nice and so was the jelly that they were served with. Nom.
Moon and I had Darjeeling tea - the champagne of teas, which was also delicious. It was a lovely day out and the afternoon tea was probably one of my favourite ever birthday presents, not to mention a great New Years treat. I also got a free sample of their Winter tea, which smells and tastes like vanilla.

Here is a less than flattering photo of me.

Happy 2011.

Excuse the short absence, I haven't been doing anything interesting but seeing in the New Year quietly and working on my dissertation - I'm onto the conclusion!
Here is the short version of how I spent New Year's Eve, I think it might be necessary to make real plans for the next one.

Add Toy Story and some very average television to these photos and that's pretty much it.
