No more than usual.

Sometimes, being denied the joy of painting my nails can be tough as it's one of my favourite things to do. I didn't manage to snap my nails properly whilst I was away really, although this is probably the most elaborate design I did as I mainly went for simple multi-coloured nails. Maybe it was a bit excessive bringing five polishes on holiday, but I love to change and have the choice.

Base Colours: Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish in Sunshine & Apricot Punch
Leopard spots: Models Own in Top Turquoise & Topshop Nail Art Pen in Nightrider
Top Coat: Rimmel Pro Super Wear Ultra Shine

I was a little against the Topshop Nail Art pen when I first got it, although I was really excited about it when I first heard about it. I'd say you really have to wait for your nails be completely dry for it to work properly, unlike the unbranded nail art pens that I'm used to or even the WAH/Models Own one. I think this is mainly due to the point of the nib and it just seems to scrape through the polish if it's not the right consistency. I was pretty pleased with this result but I think the pen is better suited to more intricate designs and is waisted on easy, 'splodgy' ones like this.

It was fun while it lasted but I also found that taking the time out from painting my nails before going away has made them the strongest they've ever been and even after being put through the mill a bit last week, they're still really healthy and not stained like they normally tend to be. If you're a bit of a chronic nail painter like me, I would definitely recommend giving yourself a breather every now and then and just allow your nails to breathe. I must admit that I felt a little self conscience at first, but now all the rank staining has grown out and I'm quite happy to just have them bare even if I'd rather they were painted.
I thought I'd mention the top coat I've been using recently. I've never had much problem with Rimmel before, but I'm kind of unhappy with this one. I know I was spending a lot of time in the sea so I shouldn't expect resistance to that, but even before going on holiday I've found this polish doesn't live up to it's 10-day-wear claim. I really wish it did, but even after a few hours it's been easily chipped, it's a real shame because the brush makes for great application and it dries super-fast. It's been okay for it's affordable £3.99 price tag and the fact I don't want/need my nails painted for long periods of time, but I don't think I'll be getting this particular one again.

Getting back on it.

Well, we've some how hit mid-week and so far I've been feeling really motivated. It would seem that feeling down about the unemployment situation is lessening, and I am willing to put it down to Walk 4 Work.

But I think I'm probably ready to stop talking about it now. Today I had an interview, although it was at a solicitors as a client receptionist, I don't think I would mind doing it so much. The interview was different from anything I have done before, we had a role-playing exercise and the questions were incredibly structured, they were writing nearly everything down(!) I think thinking on the spot may have got me somewhere but I'm a bit unsure.

Things seem to be looking up generally though, as I have another interview set up next week too. It seems to perhaps be more within the creative industry, but we'll see how everything goes.

This is what I wore to my interview. Nothing that exciting, I didn't wear the bowler hat but I thought I'd pay a final homage to Walk 4 Work. I wonder what would have happened if I had turned up in a bowler hat.

Naturally, I had to make sure I had a fresh coat of nail polish on. Closer magazine were banging on about nail art this week with a brief mention of Nails Inc's magnetic polish. Sadly I am not a millionaire and am not willing to fork out £13 for a nail polish, so I settled for getting excited about 17's version.

I bought it last week and opted for the lilac shade, it's pretty clever technology (if that's the right word). The polish contains tiny iron particles that make cool patterns when a magnet is held over it. It's awesome!
On it's own it's a nice colour but I'm all about effects, and it's a bit less intense than crackle polishes. I also think that for £5.99 RRP (although it's currently only £4.99 at Boots) it's a lot better value than it's counterparts. It's really good quality too, I mean maybe my top coat is just good, but it's fairly chip-resistant so far, I might even keep it on for more than a day. Last time I wore it I had it on for a whole 3 days, a record in my stopping nail-biting saga. I can't take my eyes of the cool 3D effect, it's available in 100 Boots stores nationwide now!

Fancy nails.

Now I definitely don't do this, ever, but I'm very proud of the fact that I've finally managed to kick the habit of biting my nails, afterI would guess around 12-13 years. This isn't a very good example post as I've just cut my nails because I'm still getting used to long nails and although I want to, I don't really like to keep them too long, plus a couple broke so Just cut them all.

I often read through fashion and beauty blogs and nowadays every other one will have a piece about nail art so I won't bore you with it as my design is very basic and there are tutorials everywhere. I found my method through Gem Fatale (I knew about her before she was on that Superscrimpers programme. fyi), and used this tutorial which is really easy to follow and best of all didn't have an annoying dancey soundtrack.
I think Gem's right when she said that it works on all lengths, seriously excuse my stubby nails, and I actually mean it. What is worse is that they must have been even shorter when I bit them... why?

I even got around to doing my sister's so I'm getting really pro at it!

I just thought I'd show off my stubby nails because after this amount of time I'm genuinely proud of my achievement, despite it not being so obvious in these images.

I recommend that you check out Gem Fatale's blog for nail tips because she has quite a few ranging from nail care to nail art and much more in between. I'm a total creep by the way, I just stumbled across her blog and followed her, I don't know her or anything, the internet is so weird.

I'm leaving for Glastonbury on Tuesday..

... then I'm going to Bodmin to stay at Long's for the day then we're sleeping in the carpark on Tuesday night, unless Moon realises how stupid/pointless it is and that we can just wake up early on Wednesday after a nice sleep.

I'm so excited. I'm planning on - battery permitting - making a video diary this Glastonbury, there are loads on Youtube but most of them are rubbish. I'm going to edit the hell out of mine!

I'm so excited, I have basically packed everything apart from my washbag.

I did my nails yesterday and have coated them in anti-chip 7 day etc stuff so I'm hoping that they'll last the whole thing. I love them so I hope that I won't get bored.

Anyway, I was basically just blogging you to let you know to watch this space.
Basically straight after Glastonbury, I'm covering Malden Fortnight so I hope I can turn everything around quickly. Eeep!
