713.

This is a bit rubbish but here are a couple of outfits and more things I bought this week, as well as a couple of gratuitous photographs of Dolly.
So these are the outfits I wore on Wednesday evening and Thursday. I went out on Wednesday for the first time in ages it was a bit of a shame that it was only a quiet one due to my interview the following day. These dresses are too good; great shapes and such cool patterns.
Left:
Dress: Yumi, £12.99
Belt: Primark, with another dress
Tights: Primark
Shoes: New Look, last year

Right:
Jacket: H&M, last year
Scarf: Primark, nearly 5 years ago
Dress: Yumi, £21.99
Tights: Primark
(wore with) Ankle Boots: River Island.

I got these in the Dorothy Perkins sale for £5, best £5 spent on shoes, ever! They're so comfy and so ugly, the best! ♥

I'm really liking the idea of putting neat things like greetings cards in frames. Scribbler might have a sale on and I might have popped into the one in Kensington while waiting around for my interview on Friday. They're by an illustrator called Paul Thurlby and I thought they were pretty cute. The 'Embrace' one would make a good Valentine's card but I feel it might be slightly to mushy for Moon's taste in that context and I'd prefer it for myself as a piece of art anyway. Now I know that Scribbler is far superior to Paperchase in it's card selection at the moment, I'll definitely be taking the time to browse there first.

I got around to printing out my graphic CV a whole week ahead of schedule. Which I probably knew I could do but it does wonders for motivation when you tick things off your to-do list early. The man who works at the printers in New Malden was quite nice and has asked to potentially use photographs from Malden Fortnight to display in the window. I don't know if anything will come from it but it was kind of nice. I'm to drop some business cards to him during next week.

Ho Ho Ho.

Ahhh, no one is psyched for Christmas! I am, and I love that everything is holiday themed right now, even Google. I went to Guildford yesterday and it was dead, but I've returned feeling holly jolly, even though all I bought was things for myself, but hey, I'm done with Christmas shopping, and I'm quite content with my bank balance hating me.

Tonight I'm meeting up with my best friend, Lucy for Christmas Eve drinks. I was a bit panicky about what to buy her, but on the subject of Christmas gifts, I snapped up one of Lyzi from BeingLittle's fabric kittens as a potential gift for someone but forgot, and was very pleased when I remembered what I'd done, Internet shopping is so great that way.

They're adorable, and so reasonably priced, I might pick up a few more and even one for myself when I finally get to my someday home.
You can pick them up and have a look at some of the other cute things Lyzi sells on her shop.

Tatty Devine have posted some great tutorials for things to make with Christmas cracker prizes. Will definitely have to give them a go, and hope that I get something decent, I'm nearly always hoping for the mini-screwdrivers though. You can see the tutorial above and others on the Tatty Devine website.

This portrait series of disabled pets by animal carer/trainer turned photographer, Carli Davidson, is adorable. She also did a great series called 'Shake' which can be seen, along with the above, on her website.

Nail Art Pen, Topshop, £6.50.
This is definitely a nail-art pen you can trust, after reading Gem Fatale's mini review of them, I was still a bit skeptical. However, after testing them out in real life, they really are literally like using a felt-tip pen and are just great, I can't wait to purchase one for my own as my trusty WAH pen has died and they don't seem to make them in a larger size anymore. :(

So envious of these Christmas nail-art ideas right now, I've been very indecisive and my nails are so short at the moment, boo!

I've seen this film twice in four days, it's perfection. It's everything I love about a gritty drama and the cinematography is brilliant, along with the soundtrack and the beautiful Tilda ♥. I picked up the book yesterday which promises to go more in-depth, once I've finished fangirling over 127 Hours' novel, 'Between a Rock and a Hard Place', I'll get on it.

Due to Nigel Slater's recent Christmas special, I was reminded of this video I put together when Moon and I were watching him one evening. It may not show Moon in a great light, but I like it and it's funny.

If you haven't been overexposed to Michael Bublé yet, where have you been? It's so difficult to not love him though when he's willing to parody himself on SNL.

    Inky rewards.

When I left Ink Global last Wednesday, they were kind enough to give me a copy of December's Metropolitan Magazine for Eurostar which I had helped work on. I think I will have contributed a bit more to the following issue as this one was just finishing up when I started, but it gives a balanced look at what I did all the same, with the images on the Radius London article being ones that I sourced from a couple of the companies mentioned and the inset Benibar images being from Rex Features and Getty.

They were also kind enough to send me off with an advent calendar, as I finished on 30th November. It's a proper one too, one where you have to search for the doors!

    680.

Can't quite believe that it's already 2nd December, I didn't do anything productive today, I was thinking about it but then it was really cold and it got too late.
I uploaded some photos onto Alamy for assessment but they got rejected by quality-control, which bothers the hell out of me because having frequented Alamy for the last month, the images I posted were to a high standard in terms of image content, not sure why it matters that they're not 3million pixels wide... maybe I'm just in a silly mood.

I'm very much in the mood for doing nothing, the weather definitely nods towards duvet days and warm drinks with cats. Here are some nice things I've saved up from around the internet for the last week. This weeks theme kind of surrounds things that I might want for Christmas, but is also a bit arty, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for the 'research' side of my degree so I've some how absent-mindedly found stuff, some I know from before, others I didn't.

Check out the links below to find out more about the Little Printer.

Bound - Cotton wrapped deceased oak, Meadow Arts Commission (2009).
Series by Philippa Lawrence reflecting the contrast of man-made aesthetics to the natural, the images themselves are beautiful but it would be great to see one. Much better than the less than impressive yarn bomb I saw in Brick Lane last weekend.

Rabbit origami pin - Hug A Porcupine
I've seen these floating around eBay for a while, too adorable.

No matter how often I come across Boo Ritson's work, I'm always excited and surprised, I love how playful the images are as well as deceptive, giving the viewer a need to take a second look.

    23 Pairs - Andrea Duncan.
I saw this at the Wellcome Collection last week, it was maybe one of the only images that I liked. It's a representation of the 23 genomes that make up chromosomes as socks, demonstrating the individuality of humans, shot in a scientific, deadpan style.

Camel/orange Dolly coat - Dorothy Perkins
I kind of feel bad for wanting a new coat considering my current one is fine and has served me so well, but I think I'd like to look a bit smarter and maybe older, and these colours are so nice. I'm also finding myself eyeing up parkas, ones with fleece inside, they looks so warm!

    I definitely have enough t-shirts.

Maiden — Amazing gift shop in Shoreditch High Street which I've been wittering on about for over a week. There is a lot more available in-store but their online store is just as bangin', check it out.
Hello Little Printer — Article about the upcoming 'Little Printer' from design consultancy, BERG. I wonder what the price will be like, it's such a cute idea, but sadly I feel that it might have a touch of the Polaroid PoGo's about it.
Christmas Window Displays — I'm a sucker for a cracking window display and I also happen to love Christmas, so thanks Marie Clair for marrying the two ♥.
Seams and Stitches — Sometimes I get a bit sad when I find a Wordpress blog, but that's why Bloglovin' is so useful. I have that now by the way (plug). I found this blog while searching for Boo Ritson images, but there are regular arty, inspirational posts and I like they way that it's written.

    What I'm listening to.
This week I've been rekindling my love for 'classic' Maccabees songs and finding some 'new to me' music.

As for my two cents on The Maccabees latest album teaser, sadly I'm not fangirling over it, as nice as their re-arranged compositions are, I was only impressed by a couple scenes within the short film, which the guys put together with filmmakers Charlie & Joe, visually it was nothing that really wowed me, sorry guys. But it's exciting that their release date is soon:
    02 January — 'Pelican', single.
09 January — 'Given to the Wild', album
You can view the Given to the Wild short film on Drowned in Sound.

Sorry that this has so much in one place, it's been a while, I'll try harder next time when I'm less distracted.
