Inky rewards.

When I left Ink Global last Wednesday, they were kind enough to give me a copy of December's Metropolitan Magazine for Eurostar which I had helped work on. I think I will have contributed a bit more to the following issue as this one was just finishing up when I started, but it gives a balanced look at what I did all the same, with the images on the Radius London article being ones that I sourced from a couple of the companies mentioned and the inset Benibar images being from Rex Features and Getty.





They were also kind enough to send me off with an advent calendar, as I finished on 30th November. It's a proper one too, one where you have to search for the doors!

I might get a chance to flex my photography muscles at Ink on Monday. Hopefully anyway, we're going to a restaurant to get some nice shots of these cookery books for one of the magazines.

I had to do a (terrible) test shoot yesterday to display them but it was a bit flat in terms of lighting, if I am photographing I hope there will be a bit more depth and control. But the test was just to get an idea of how to lay them out, it was all quite exciting, I got to move from my desk and use a sexy Canon, secretly nerdgasmed, but it only took about 10 minutes.





Currently waiting for Moon to get here, my driving lesson today went really well, I think I definitely need to open my ears a bit more though, to avoid getting unnecessarily flustered at roundabouts.

While I'm here, it would appear that the JobCentre need further complaints made to them as within the last few days I have received both my P45 and a letter letting me know that my claim had been closed and what I can do in terms of additional funding, which is great and all, if I didn't only have three days left with Ink. Morons, it's as though they've done it on purpose and know there is no point in me doing anything about it... funny that..

Feeling a lot better now that I have that 'article monkey' off my back. Now to regale you with some fascinating phone photos etc. Only three days left with Ink, super scary stuff, unemployment looming...

As I have mentioned in a few previous posts, I quite like the novelty of having a decent camera on my phone for quick snaps while generally out and about. While saying that, I must also say that the combination of working in an area with so many cool things and not having any money to do anything about it definitely the biggest downer when it comes to interning in Shoreditch, but that's down to the compulsive shopper in me.
I really love Maiden, a shop I intend to visit tomorrow but have passed every day for the last three and a half weeks.

It has the cutest sign outside with such nice things to say for itself, so enticing.

Tomorrow, I have made plans with Moon to soothe my urges to run amok in my lunchbreak and we're going to visit Spitalfields and a few pop-up things that are happening around Brick Lane this weekend. It's the antiques market tomorrow, which I'm very excited about because I didn't get a proper chance to snoop when I was there a couple of Thursday's ago, I adore anything Snooper's Paradise-y.

I never really know where I stand on taxidermy, as a great animal lover as well as a massive fan of the Natural History Museum. I'll probably have to put it out there and say that I quite like it, but you can't deny that this guy has character regardless of your feelings towards stuffed animals.

Regarding my previous statement, the more I see this guy, the more I feel a bit squeamish.

I'm really quite liking all the fog that we're getting at the moment, it makes the walk from home to the station so eerie. I do feel a bit sad that it's now usually dark when I wake up but I think I'm used to it now, I haven't even really been tired this week, despite it being my first actual full and proper five day working week.



This is my favourite outfit from this week, it was so cosy and I think this is my current favourite t-shirt, it's from Tee & Cake at Topshop, which is great but pricey.

So here is a more miscellaneous selection of photos from the last week or so, I'm a bit bummed that I wasn't able to keep as on top of it as I would have liked to, but I've been spending all day at a computer working and I think it would make it less fun if I made myself do this.

This is Ink's atrium, it's quite a nice place to sit, with a comfy sofa and you can nose on people on the other floors while they nose back at you.

I am the first to admit that I'm a fairly clumsy girl, but I never usually hurt myself. When it happened, I thought I hadn't, turns out I did, tripping up concrete stairs is never great. Still can't really kneel, I am an idiot.

Fave Pret lunch, cannot recommend it more highly, there are pistachios!

I met up with my friend Tom for lunch today at Liverpool St Station where there were lastminute.com men everywhere handing out free chocolate, I was running late so rushed past but Tom got two and gave his second one to me ♥. I have a few links and pictures saved up for a 'favourite things' post, I found a literal goldmine this morning. I plan to spend this weekend as far away from the computer as far as using it to catch up with Walking Dead as possible so watch this space but it won't be for a few days. Looking forward to getting my first session of Christmas shopping out the way as well as finding somewhere delicious to eat, and of course seeing Moon, I've seen more of regular commuters than I have of him this week. It still sucks that we're not able to live together yet.

Oooft, I should probably get some shut-eye, my lie-in is not very good tomorrow due to a driving lesson (which I still need to get on top of in terms of theory).

In further news, the Battlefront programme is on on Sunday at 8:40am, it seems like years ago, the trailer can be seen here, please don't watch it actually, I want to proof it first ;)

Humpday loving.

Ink gave me the day off today because they were a bit overcrowded, so I figured that now (I'm still pumped from how great today's rescheduled driving lesson went) was a good a time as anything to show you some things I like this week.

I've been spending less time on the Internet because it's what I do at work all day so this is a smaller selection than usual, but I'm mainly using it as a POR so I can close some damn bookmarks.

As soon as I can justify it, I'm getting this. Vamos! Threads make all kind of neat things with awesome patterns to order, including this 'Crazy Cat Lady' skirt, these wicked leggings and even saddle covers for bikes! Love.

Reminds me of all the hilarious things you can do with Photobooth. I feel for this guy, I get a freckle on both sides of my face too.

I think that Coldplay get too much stick, they are really nice. I also prefer this to Rihanna's original version.

Things I'm loving less this week:
- The cliffhangers at the end of The Walking Dead; What even?! At least give us a double-bill.
- Train delays, in the rain, with no explanation.
- Anyone trying to go to/from the Shepperton route to Waterloo, get off
- The Job Centre and their continuous, unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Frankie Cocozza getting booted out of X Factor; I really wanted to see which song he would butcher next.

Life is going quite well at the moment, I love the feeling of productivity that having a job gives me and having a packed diary is lovely.
It was nice to take today off, only to catch up on sleep though, not that I was particularly sensible with that.

I've spent the last week being nervous and frantic over everything, not for any particular reason but just because I've needed to and I feel slightly overstressed. I don't think my Nikon interview went that well, but I have the lovely picture desk internship to fall back on.

I'm quite worried because I've had a very bad sleeping pattern for a few days now and have a growing anxiety over getting up and going to work. I'm not worried about being able to but more worried about crashing early due to stupidity, I don't even know why I've had this bout of insomnia, I love sleep. However, going to bed at 3am and not wanting to wake up until 12 is unacceptable when you have a job, particularly when it's a job you want.

I feel a bit on-edge, a lot of people waste their time while being unemployed by playing video games and watching daytime TV, but I've spent nearly every minute job-hunting. I'm going to spend the next couple of days slobbing-out and properly relaxing.

I'm so worried about my driving situation too, how can I continue lessons when I'm away from home from 8 until 7 and will probably be knackered? Saturday lessons it will probably be and I don't know where that puts the remainder of my social life... I feel like I've been having lessons forever, but I'm only 9 lessons in, hardly enough to starting thinking about tests, is it?

I thought I would update this anyway, despite the lack of photos and information, like I said I've been feeling so rushed off my feet so hopefully taking the time to slow things down will put me in a good situation for when I start.
