Tuesday Tabs #29.

There are so many things I want, and the list is getting longer, I'm a little worried that this is the wrong attitude to have. This is going to be the best week, I finish at Vue tomorrow, then it's my birthday and I've got heaps planned for the weekend before an induction at my new job on Monday. Yes!

We're heading somewhere awesome in the evening on my birthday, I'm super-excited.
Here are some of my favourite things from around the Internet this week:

Pug Salt & Pepper Shakers, Quail for Maiden
I'm so pleased that Maiden finally put these on their website after I spotted them in store so many months ago. These are definitely 'first pay cheque' material and they'd go perfectly with my pug eggcup. My current ones have seen better days and these are the perfect replacements.

Creamola Foam Apron, Gillian Kyle
I love Gillian Kyle's whole range of Creamola Foam products, but this apron is graphically my favourite. You should have a look at the rest of her shop too, there are so many other nostalgia-making buys. I'm also a big fan of her Tunnock's Teacake Tote.

'Sunshine' Camera Strap, iMo
I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new camera in my life come my birthday, and this is the custom strap I'd like for it. It may be put on my 35mm camera instead depending on how it looks, but iMo make the nicest straps, and whichever I choose, it will go nicely with the heart-patterned one I already have. They're such a reasonable price given the quality, and my last one arrived so fast considering it came all the way from Hong Kong!

Billy Ray Floral Ankle Boots, Schuh
Woeful as I am that so many nods to Autumn are already coming up and it doesn't feel like the UK had much of a summer, I do enjoy a good boot, and I'm getting my shopping-around in early. I've been after a pair of cowboy-esque boots for a little while and the details on these ones are just darling.

Vincent Flatform Ankle Boot, ASOS
As these are so different from the above boots, I think both could be justifiable once I've had a sort out of my current shoe situation. These are lovely and so different from anything else I have, not to mention smart enough to get away with wearing at my new job.

Bear-print Camisole, Leah Goren

I've been listening to Alt-J a lot in the last few days.
Link Love:
  • Kayleigh O'Connor's 'out there' Nail Art — A little impractical, but some of the most fun designs I've seen in ages.
  • Jasmine from Jazz Loves You More's Illustrated Love List — As a lover of lists I appreciate this all too much. So many neat ideas keep cropping up for the sketchbook I bought and I haven't actually touched it once, I feel so guilty, this is the perfect week to start.
  • LOOK Beauty's Nail Pop — I foolishly didn't realise just how many polishes I'd thrown away when having my clear out and have come to the conclusion that I just don't have enough. I sure wish they stocked these in my local Superdrug, but picking them up online will have to do for now, they're so pretty.
  • Gemma Correll's 'Scribble Kitty' Tote Bag — I really need to stop getting drawn in by totes.
  • These photographs of birds by John Soong — I should do a spot of bird-watching in our garden, I love the colours in these photos.
  • Bike DIYs from Goodnight Little Spoon — It's posts like these that make me really want a bike, if I had a pretty one I'd definitely ride it. #hipster

  • It's going to get easier to keep these posts shorter soon, which I'm glad about because sometimes they do get a little long. Looking back on them is pretty fun though, and makes me realises I maybe don't need some things over others and can appreciate them with my eyes rather than actually having them, although it's good to have a stash of Etsy shops and independent shops that might get lost otherwise.

Following up from yesterday's post, I won't be able to show you any La Sardina photos as planned as the film was blank. I'm actually super-upset about it, firstly because it was borrowed and I've now given it back, secondly because I was really excited about seeing what it would come up with. Now it will be even more difficult to make the decision on whether to get one...

I might make the most of my last week of free cinema tickets and head out to see Brave, kind of sad I have no one to see it with as Moon wasn't interested, afternoon matinee for one...

    Tuesday Tabs #27

Feels silly posting this because I have so many other things lined up to share with you. I've been at work all day though and I'm feel a little sleepy and lazy - also silly because these posts take a little longer than they should.

I hope that you're having a good Tuesday, I've been rushed off my feet, here are some of my favourite finds from the Internet this week.

    Beach Party Print, Tuesday Bassen
I really like this print from Tuesday Bassen, I love all her other work too, you should definitely check her out, her store is full of quirky, humourous knick-nacks.

    Georgia - Nautical, Jo Totes
I've been talking about Jo Totes' camera bags for so long now that it actually makes my heart a little hurt that I still don't own one. With yet another stylish, and pretty collection launched, I hope this will be the year I get one. I'll make it a treat for the wedding I'm shooting in October, this is my favourite of the Jo Totes bags so far, just check out the inside.

ASOS Dress in Tea Party Print
I wish that I'd seen this dress sooner as it's now sold out, as well as being half-price, it's so cute and fun, the heart cut-out on the back is a killer.

    Teapot, Ferm Living
    Pretty

'I Thought That You Didnt Like Me' Ceramic Tile, Rob Ryan
*note to self, ask for all the Rob Ryan things for your upcoming, unimportant birthday.x

    Ray Bans, Smart Buy Glasses
I picked up a pair of (rather convincing) Faux-Bans while in Turkey, but after browsing Smart Buy Glasses and seeing the bargains on offer, I'd love to treat myself to these bad-boys. Something about spending that much on a pair of sunglasses makes me incredibly nervous though, even if they're the coolest and so discounted, I always lose everything.
    Link Love:
  • Print & Fold Paper Cats via How About Orange — I'll always have a soft-spot for cute paper craft even if I'm not the best at it.
  • Terri Lowe's Blogging Etiquette Guide - Part Two — Terri writes some really great stuff and this was particularly good, some great tips as well as witty, well-thought out opinions, one of my favourite blogs at the moment to read.
  • This Is Rude — Pretty rad creative collective.
  • The iTunes Festival — I must say it's hardly living up to previous line ups, but it's grown in popularity I guess and people ruin everything. Last year was actually the first time I didn't go, I could have seen Dry the River and Manic Street Preachers had I not been as poor as church mouse. However, Mumford and Sons have been added to the line-up and I've love to see Frightened Rabbit and Biffy Clyro, so fingers crossed despite lacking a bit of oomph.

  • Currently Watching: The Newsroom.
Currently Listening To: The 'Drive' soundtrack.
Currently: Crying over the bills stealing the money I literally just got paid. *boo to bills

    Tuesday Tabs #26

Phew! What a warm day it's been, I spent most of it waiting around for buses, but had a nice wander up the town this afternoon. I have my sister down at the moment, so I'm racking my brains to think of fun things to do, although it's been a big ask in between my interview and finishing at 2am last night. I'm sure we'll get around to doing something fun on my next day off on Thursday.

Here's this week's Internet finds, although I have to be honest and tell you there isn't much as I've been working so much this week and as the weather has been so lovely I've been relaxing outside.

    Cats Top, Zara
I'm not a huge fan of sheer clothing because I never really know how to wear it, but the pattern of this top from Zara is just too darling.

    Coral Paisley-Print Blazer, River Island

Mister Tea by Perpetual Kid (via Whitezine)
How cute is this tea infuser, his face embodies how everyone should feel when they settle down with a cuppa.

Birds of a Feather necklace, Sudlow Jewelry

    Skeleton Triceratops necklace, DesignosaurYEAH!
I first spotted DesignosaurYEAH's designs when I was in Brighton for Moon's birthday back in March. I figured it would be a while before I would be able to return to Porta and that I might never find their lovely designs again but I some how stumbled upon them on Etsy and I'm so pleased!

    Cat Bag, Charlotte Farmer Illustration
Maybe just one more tote bag wouldn't hurt...

    Laser Cut Lace-up Shoes, ASOS

    Link Love:
  • Rob Ryan's Exhibition at the Charleston Gallery — I'm so excited for this! I can't decide to treat myself when I next have a free weekend or to make it my birthday day-out, I'm really hoping that it will be the former.
  • The Internet Apocalypse — Ashley from Against the Woodgrain has done a neat post about what happened when she disconnected her Internet. I can only hope for that kind of willpower, particularly the willpower regarding making summer wi-fi free.
  • Space-saving Rooms — These are all kind of awesome, I kind of wish I wasn't so spoilt for space just so I could have a 'loft-bed'.
  • Cute Boys with Cats — Sometimes Tumblr is a great place to have your mind read.

    What I Wore: 'Home'.

I went into Reading on Saturday, which is a lot better for shopping than I was expecting. I'm a bit limited for spending money at the moment as my holiday is coming up next week but I did treat myself to a couple of things while I was there.

Here's what I wore yesterday, I had planned on doing something with my Sunday afternoon but ended up cooking a roast dinner and playing video games as the weather wasn't that nice and I had work in the evening so there wasn't a lot of time.

    Shirt: Cath Kidston
    Lady Tie: Flapper Girl
    Trousers: New Look
    Shoes: ASOS

I'm totally in love with these blue shoes I got last week in the ASOS sale and I've been wearing them with everything. This is one of my favourite outfits I've worn recently, it's so comfortable while still being quite nice to look at. The Cath Kidston sale was definitely my friend this weekend, and I picked up this darling shirt for £20 marked down from £38!

I've been in serious need of starting to wear my lady ties from Flapper Girl again recently. I love them but as it's (meant to be) Summer, there's slightly less call for doing things up to the collar. I love this tie with this outfit though and think it really compliments the colour of my trousers. Also, because of the fit of the shirt, it's just really nice to wear it rather than worrying about being uncomfortable.

I'd actually spotted this shirt a little while ago but it was really out of my price range and I had totally forgotten about it. I'm so glad I found it again and it's already my favourite shirt thanks to the flattering fit and print — I can't explain how pleased I was when I tried it on at home and it wasn't 'booby'. I'm umming and ahhing as to whether it would be alright to take to Turkey, but it's pretty lightweight so it's probably on the list.

This is the other thing I picked up in Reading, also from the Cath Kidston sale. I know they're a little novel but I couldn't resist their cuteness, I'm going to pin them to everything!

I know this song is kind of old now, as well as apparently coming back into popularity due to someone covering it on America's Got Talent, but it's one of the loveliest songs I've heard this year. It's just such an uplifting track and there's so much warmth in their vocals it makes me feel a little bit fuzzy inside.

    Little Eight.

Here's an outfit from the other day which I quite liked, as well as some recent things that I've bought and liked ♥. I'm so pleased because I couldn't fit into these shorts six months ago and now I do. I feel like I was channelling my inner child a bit with this one, but sometimes it's nice to not worry about carrying off a certain look.

    T-shirt: New Look
    Necklace: Gift
    Shorts: Peacocks
    Socks: New Look
    Shoes: Converse

Excuse my nearly makeupless face, I'm only wearing Dermablend, and despite my tired eyes I don't think I look too bad.

Nails: Models Own: Soda Pop Pink, Aciiied
I mainly only painted my nails for the sake of having the day off, I really want to get my nail art back up to scratch for my holiday next week.

So, like I said on Tuesday, I went a little crazy on the ASOS sale. I'm actually sending a couple of things back, but it's alright because what I have left is still nice. If you're interested, the items I'm sending back are the bag I mentioned a couple of Tuesday Tabs ago - it is a bit more fluorescent than I would have liked, which is sad because the teal zip is mainly what made me fall for it, I also picked up elephant print jeans which as with most trousers on my 5'3" body, were just not a good fit, plus I didn't like the print in real life as much as I thought I would, sure I love animal-prints but I'm still particular about them.

    Timeless for ASOS [x]
I love these shoes, it's always the best when you first put on a pair of shoes and they're comfy straight away and don't really need any wearing in. I wore these all the way into work and was blister-free by the time I arrived. I'd definitley recommend them, especially for the price they're at now.

    [x]
This was my second choice after the bag I'm sending back. I thought it would be good for the holiday. The colours are nice and light so it's a good summer bag, it's mainly a rucksack but can be either two straps or one, which is pretty neat. It's also really roomy, which is something I always need in a bag, just so I can opt to put my SLR in there if I need to, so this will be great for Turkey.
You might also notice that I was a bit cheeky and popped out to get the map-print Tee & Cake t-shirt from Topshop that I mentioned earlier this week

    [x]
This was kind of on a whim but I've been kind on edge over scratching my new phone's face so at least I have a nice way to not do that now. ♥

If you subscribe to Glossybox, you'll know that The Garden Pharmacy are offering 20% off Dermablend products until July. I snapped this up, as with the discount is was still £19 and as you're only using a small amount at a time, I feel like it will last forever. I was also surprised to learn that the sample pack in this month's box was £4.99! The Garden Pharmacy were also nice enough to include this sample of Vichy 24hr moisturiser.

Have you snapped up anything nice in the ASOS sale yet, or grabbed any other bargains?
