Photo An Hour: November // and a Quick Update.

I hope you don't think I've forgotten about you, things have been so busy (and hectic) around here and literally all I want to do is veg. At first I felt like I didn't have much to talk about anyway, now I have a big backlog of stuff, and I just don't feel like it, oh what a first-world blogging problem.

I've been looking into starting a Bullet Journal but I really think it would give me just that little push to be slightly more productive. It feels like it's been pretty hard to do that recently, especially since it's dark when I wake up and when I go home. Let's just say I'm looking forward to upping my vitamin D intake and making the most of the outdoors during the Christmas holidays (and not having to drive my car everywhere).

I guess November's Photo An Hour is a perfect example of what I've just been talking about - I mean, what a lazy thing I am...

7am // Waking up at 'normal work day' time, discovering it's not quite light and deciding to doze a while longer.

11am // My dozing turns into full-on sleep and I lose my whole morning.

12pm // Crumpets and tea for breakfast(ish).

1pm // Gratuitous cat picture, she's been such a grub lately.

2pm // Laundry; because I'm a domestic goddess.

3pm // Post-shower living room window.

4pm // Heading quickly to Sainsbury's to pick up some advent calendars for Moon and I - I failed.

5pm // Making room for the Christmas tree(!)

6pm // Continuing the peace and quiet I've relished in all day.

7pm // Dinner for one of pie and chips.

8pm // Treating myself to a miniature desert.

9pm // Important Admin, obviously.

10pm // Waiting for Moon to come home with a cup of tea.

So that was the last day of my November, I don't want to keep saying I'll be doing a bit more blogging soon and then not do it but I am hoping to...

Hibernating.

I had a whole bunch of things planned for this week, I was going to get everything done...

Instead, I've played a lot of GTA V, met my friend Laura's new sphinx cat (what a dream!), found some new American TV shows that I like and have basically been a deadly combination of a bit busy and very lazy.
I'm not even really sorry though, like, everything just seems to feel a lot harder when it's dark when you wake up and getting dark by the time you tumble through the door at the end of the day - I like autumn, but I'm not down with this.

There are a few things backed up that I've yet to share but I haven't worked around to scheduling anything - I'm a bit gutted about that because I was getting so good at it before I slumped.

I think next week will be better - I'll feel less groggy and will have had an unrushed change of scenery, plus I'm seeing Bowling for Soup tonight and that's quite good.

Never enough time for a duvet day.

...says the girl who only rolled out of bed at quarter to 12 this morning. I do genuinely feel a lack of relaxation in my life though, hopefully I will have some friendlier hours this week and I can spend less time thinking about being in bed. I'm only making this a quick one to share some snaps from Saturday, when it was a bit nicer than it is now, who would have thought these were taken just three days ago and that it's supposed to be June! As a British person, it's definitely instilled in me to complain about the weather but I have found that I do it a ridiculous amount on here, so I'll just say that the weather was adequate on Saturday and leave it at that.

Doll has been behaving particularly strangely over the last few days. I wonder if it's her hormones settling down, but she was sat watching us eat, how a dog perhaps would, and even ate a plain piece of bread. She's been super affectionate too, which I love, but love less at 5am.

Aside from being super tired all the time, I've got to pop out and pick myself up a new phone later as I lost mine between the car and the flat on Friday night and some lamo has picked it up and rather than be decent and bring it back has decided to keep it. I'm also having steak tonight, and catching up on some much needed tidying and the latest episode of Girls (my creys that it's the season finale next week!). For what was left of this morning - and for most of this afternoon - I've been preparing for an interview I have on Thursday and taking some poorly designed online assessments for the one recruitment agency in Newbury that I'm not signed up with.

Saturday was a nice day because Moon was finally able to get some well-deserved rest after a stressful couple of weeks and a fun night out seeing The Maccabees the night before. He made me breakfast, then we did some gardening before heading up the town. I know it doesn't sound that interesting but we've barely had any time to do anything like that in between having people to visit and rushing off elsewhere, so although I was working in the evening, it was pretty great to spend part of the weekend by ourselves.

My 99p Store tomato plants are thriving and Saturday was the day to pot them up outside. I haven't checked on them just yet and I hope they're alright, but I'm pretty pleased that I've been able to make something grow, and grow so well too!

We picked up this strawberry plant while it was still just flowering and potted it up at home. I'm so excited that some actual strawberries are coming through. I hope they're tasty.

We're also growing beans, raddishes, globe carrots and purple spring onions, but none of them are quite through yet. By the looks of things we also might have a slug/snail problem which needs to be sorted pronto.

So this is our garden, it was much better with trees but I quite like it.

We've been taking Dolly out on a lead, I don't want to let her out properly until she's all grown back from her operation and generally I'm just a bit weary of letting her out unsupervised anyway. She seems to have taken to the lead well though, even if it does frustrate her a bit when she's trying to hunt birds.. and flies.

Cardigan: Urban Outfitters
Dress: Yumi
Tights: Primark
Shoes: Converse
I hate these tights, they never stay in the right place but I like the colour too much to get rid of them.

I came back from town with flowers and this dress from Peacocks. The Peacocks in Newbury has just opened up again after being closed down for ages, the selection isn't great and I only popped in to look for tights, which they didn't even have. This dress is awesome though, it's a lovely length and fit, I was a bit stressed out that it was so crinkled though, despite being brand new, not something I'm used to when buying something new from a shop. I know I have enough animal-print things, but the colour and everything else about it, not to mention the friendly £18 price tag were too much to resist.

I hope to plant this out when the weather's nicer again. I got it half-price in Wilkinsons, it will be so nice for the bees.

I picked up these from a market stall and they're still going strong. Daisies are one of my favourite flowers ♥

The last thing I bought on Saturday was a frame for our Pie & Vinyl print, which after much (unnecessary) stressin', Moon framed and hung on the wall. I think the brown makes a welcome change from all the black frames we have around the house and goes so well with the print, I love it, it was definitely worth the extra money.

Anyway, it's time for lunch before being over-sold to by Phone Shop people...

Oops.

Kay, so I still haven't updated with the neat photos I've taken, haven't even put them onto my computer yet.
Moon is leaving for Ireland this evening so I've spent the last couple of days with him instead of doing anything productive but give me a break I don't actually have anything to do and I won't be seeing him for like 10 days.
I have the dentist this afternoon and am heading back up to New Malden in a bit, then I'm on my own until Monday - urgh. I've been putting it off because I'm not a huge fan of being on my own.

It's just dawning on me that it's now a month until Uni starts again. Better start reading properly. The only relevant chapter in one book wasn't as great as I thought it would be. I think I'll start on the main book tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing this:
I thought the film was pretty intense, so I'm quite excited that 'Combo' is meant to make an appearance in this too. I'm hoping I'll have a decent TV to watch it on by the time it comes out.

I promise I'll sort myself out - while I'm on my own - over the next couple of days.

D'awww.

The Cute Show has returned on VBS.tv. Normally sloths repulse me, but look at them, these short clips made me change my mind about alpaca too.

I'm not looking forward to today's challenge. I also am quite cross that I was unable to find a nice new dress for my party. Guildford is rubbish and so are sales, all the clothes are either teeny-tiny or humungous. Hurry up galaxy trend, please.
Gonna do a pub quiz tonight - could end up feeling like a total dimwit, it's good preparation for my few days away in Brighton. Brighton Giraffe does quizzes on Tuesdays, I'm intending to do it and play the whole 'it's my birthday' card.

Procrastination...

Although I have nothing to procrastinate from, I both enjoy and agree with this.

I'm off out tonight, I think it will do my lazy brain some good, worried about myself since I didn't get to sleep until 4:20 this morning...

Happy February.

I have a week left until Semester Two begins, I have just received a hefty amount of emails regarding my timetable, needless to say, it's looking much more filled, which I'm kind of happy about but not so happy about considering the tutors we've got.

I haven't been getting up much earlier than 12 for around 5 days, I'm really disappointed in myself, I know I should be fine with it because after this full week it will be back to 8AM wake ups, plus it's not even that late, but that's probably the point anyway. Anyway, Tom is coming down on Wednesday and I'd like to spend as much time as possible with him while he is here, rather than spending half or the majority of the time sleeping.

Forget talking about sleeping for this paragraph, I'm going to Southampton tomorrow to see Jamie T, so finally something to break my dull routine - which is probably why I've been so lazy and tired anyway. I can't wait and I've been waiting so long already, this gig should have happened in October, I'm literally humming with excitement.

At Babylon on Saturday we played 'La Barbichette',

You hold each other by the chin, and the first one to laugh gets slapped - much harder than it sounds, particularly given the circumstances, it's a French schoolyard game and Moon and I saw it in this short film earlier that day:
Dir: Kim Chapiron, 2002

I can't believe it's February already, I think that this year is definitely going to be a good one, I can feel it, even if I did spend a bit of January being bored.

Excuse the absence of posting.

...I have been lazy and haven't been bothered, my Project 365 has been kept up to date but nothing worth writing about has happened to me, so I haven't.
It's quite boring during exam period, it's basically like being a widow, but I'm used to it now.
I saw this earlier, and I am unsure if it is in poor taste of just one of those jokes, good on them for donating all the profit to the Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund, although it's not really something I've overly conscious about - the news is somewhat of a huge reality TV show sometimes, it's hard to know what affects me and what doesn't.

Makes my day.

...when I find new photographer's whilst playing hookie from university, makes me feel like I'm not doing such a bad thing.
Technically, it's not hookie if it's not actually in the university though.

I'm getting the invitation designs down this afternoon as I've found some templates, so my afternoon won't be totally wasted. Besides anything, have you seen how wet and horrible/miserable it is out there? No thank you.

Chris Buck (via Recovering Lazyholic via How Design)
So I found Chris Buck, might be pretty neat to look at if I carry through with the dressing-up project next semester. He's pretty funny and quirky, I've basically fallen in love with him. He photographs all my favourite celebrities as well as the ones I like not so much.

Seth Rogen & Paul Rudd

For lunch I am having baked beans and jacket potato.
