I Love November.

As I've said many, many times before, I love summer. It's not that I hate winter, it certainly has it's good points; Christmas, New Year, central heating and jumpers, but it gets darker earlier and lighter later and I really, really love vitamin D.

And yet with all that said, November is still one of my favourite months. Bonfire Night is one of my favourite nights of the year and I like that November allows for a lead-up to Christmas without as much intensity. Like, you're allowed to start Christmas shopping but you don't have to be angsty about it.

November always feels like a decision-making month and for the last few years it's always been packed with lots of things to do, with this year being no exception as we're pretty much booked up all month!

What I'm Looking Forward to in November:

  • Firework displays of all sizes
  • Planning our annual Christmas get-together with our friends
  • The weather finally making up its mind and knowing I can wrap up without breaking into a sweat
  • Bath Christmas Market
  • Making more soups and stews
  • A gig on a boat in Bristol
  • Frosty mornings
  • Partying up with old friends
  • Making the most of the darker evenings by lighting all the candles
  • Blowing out the cobwebs on weekend walks

What do you like about November? I love a month that showcases the changing of the seasons, and a month with fireworks, obviously.

Bonjour, Avril.

Today was an incredibly uneventful way to see in a new month. Scarily seeing in a new month really, what am I going to do? I sure hope I don't see in another month jobless, this is all getting very uncool. I still don't think I've caught up on all my lost sleep from this week as I still feel exhausted, but I'm beginning to think it's probably more down to the general stress rather than just not sleeping enough.

I did this on Friday morning, but I figured that now was as good a time as any to share them with you. Because it was so cold yesterday I still haven't got around to finishing off upcycling my chest, but expect to see things in the next few days.

I used Gem Fatale's fool-proof tutorial and I'm super-happy with the result. I picked these jeans up for £13 from Primark, and they'll do as a good stand-in for the Republic daisy-print trousers I've had a hankering for. Although polka-dots do add something different to these jeans already, I think they needed a little extra. They were too long for me anyway so needed taking up, but having kitties on the pockets is the best bonus. I don't think I did a too bad job considering I was lacking hair straighteners which look as though they would definitely make the job a thousand times easier. Now I know it's this easy, I definitely think I'll give it go again in future.

While I remember I also thought I would share these neat tropical-print shoes I picked up from ASOS for just £11. I'm currently not that happy with them as after a first serious wear they've left me with some very sore blisters. I'm willing to push on forward though because overall they're pretty solid and feel like they might last quite long, plus the pattern is pretty...

Have you bought anything fun lately to fully embrace the brilliant weather, may as well enjoy it while it lasts.

Today's the day I start FatMumSlim's April Photo A Day Challenge, which, due to how this post has turned out, I'll slip into a new post. There's still a lot of the 1st of April left, so it's not to late to join in.

Happy April Fools Day!

Happy February.

I have a week left until Semester Two begins, I have just received a hefty amount of emails regarding my timetable, needless to say, it's looking much more filled, which I'm kind of happy about but not so happy about considering the tutors we've got.

I haven't been getting up much earlier than 12 for around 5 days, I'm really disappointed in myself, I know I should be fine with it because after this full week it will be back to 8AM wake ups, plus it's not even that late, but that's probably the point anyway. Anyway, Tom is coming down on Wednesday and I'd like to spend as much time as possible with him while he is here, rather than spending half or the majority of the time sleeping.

Forget talking about sleeping for this paragraph, I'm going to Southampton tomorrow to see Jamie T, so finally something to break my dull routine - which is probably why I've been so lazy and tired anyway. I can't wait and I've been waiting so long already, this gig should have happened in October, I'm literally humming with excitement.

At Babylon on Saturday we played 'La Barbichette',

You hold each other by the chin, and the first one to laugh gets slapped - much harder than it sounds, particularly given the circumstances, it's a French schoolyard game and Moon and I saw it in this short film earlier that day:
Dir: Kim Chapiron, 2002

I can't believe it's February already, I think that this year is definitely going to be a good one, I can feel it, even if I did spend a bit of January being bored.
