Sending Out Christmas Cards

I think it's because Moon and I were friends for quite a while before we were boyfriend and girlfriend and maybe to some extent because we're still such good friends now but considering we've been together for so long it surprises me how many 'couple' milestones we're still reaching.

December 2013, it's about joint Christmas cards. We've sent gifts to people as a couple before but I was pretty nervous about this mass statement to our friends and family. I guess it all feels pretty grown up and like anything that's grown up, it's scary. I was actually pretty surprised by how un-bothered my friends were to receive a Christmas card from the both of us, and actually more surprised to see that they seemed to like it.

We got them printed from moo.com, a company I really trust for quality after using them for business cards when I properly thought I could hack freelance Photography. They didn't disappoint either, their system was really easy to use and they arrived really quickly in a neat package. The paper and print quality was pretty great for these too and I'd definitely recommend them, obviously the files I used were pretty high-res anyway but there wasn't any smudging or blurring.

Do you get our festive anagram?

After taking photographs of Doll in the snow at the beginning of the year, I thought that a Christmas card would be a great way to share it, it was just a shame I had to wait so long. Doll was a bit confused by the snow and I guess we took advantage of her a little but I do enjoy having such a placid little cat.

Hopefully everyone will have got these cards in time for Christmas and although it was a small milestone, we'll have been together 7 and a half years next week so I guess it was a little silly to be so worried. I'm already looking forward to picking out a picture for next year. I quite like the personalised touch - especially doing doodles on each envelope and card to make up for everyone pretty much getting the same thing.

My ma certainly appreciated my efforts...

Snow More.

It's been a week since there was pretty, fluffy white snow falling from the sky. Now in it's place is weird, crispy ice. I nearly fell and broke my neck this morning, I didn't, but the risk was there and that's why this weather is horrid.

It sure was pretty before it was ruined (since it's such an inconvenience) though, so here are some photos I took during Friday and Saturday's snow days. This weekend is still looking to be a bit quiet, thanks to lack of funds but I'm sure it will do me some good to rest.

After the 10 minute walk from the station to home / Some how the tunnel to our garden was filled with snow!

It's so funny how invisible Doll is in these pictures, I'm sure she's not this white in person.

Sometimes I think it's pretty funny that people always comment on what a beaut she is, because yeah, she is, but she's so naughty and annoying the other 99% of the time that I don't notice it until I take a step back.

This poor guy's head is now on the floor, but we used his nose in tonight's chicken enchiladas so it's okay.

Moon's wearing socks on his hands because he doesn't own any gloves...

Cat bully.

I also thought I'd share my soundtrack of last weekend with you too, all of some of my favourite songs at the moment that I can't stop listening to, I'm sure I'll be blaring this out on this Saturday and Sunday morning too, definitely rekindled my love with Spotify.

Additional Whitemare.

I think I've de-stressed myself, so it's back to work for this week and I hope I don't have another stupid episode.
I've planned to get my RDB out the way this week and to carry on with my dissertation right up until the hand-in. Pff.
So anyway, here are some photos left over from the 'Whitemare', all the snow is gone now but it is expected to get colder again this week, so we might be back where we started by the end of the week.
I really hope I'm able to get home with no hassle because I'm kind of looking forward to going home now.

Busted out some Christmas songs. I quite like Boy Least Likely To's Christmas album, out of loyalty and the tinkly noise they make, but also because their single from the album, 'George and Andrew' is a great idea with a great video. If Cher wins X Factor, everyone should buy this to boycott her.

I know I said that I should put 'stop making to-do lists' on my to-do list, but right now I think I really need them.

'It's making you look radiant, you're beautiful!'

In case you didn't get the newsflash, it's snowing, or been snowing, and it's finally hit Portsmouth. I've felt a bit ill for most of the day but am a bit better now. Here are some photos from last night and today. It's pretty good how quiet it is when it snows and it's quite fun to be covered in it.

I think not being very well can be attributed to how stressed I've been feeling, but not doing anything today has done me some good and I'm ready to start everything again tomorrow. I think I'm basically just ready to go home for Christmas, even though that's still over two weeks away.

I got a nice email from Jocelyn Allen, the photographer I talked about a few blogs back, she read it and she complimented me on my own work, it made me quite happy.

Urgh, I've got text panels to do in different typefaces, and I've got to reprint one of my images and source from Foamex, cheapest place I've found so far is £10 and they'll mount it for me, which is fine, but I'm feeling so skint right now, although at least when mounting the rest of the images for the exhibition the next lot of loan will have come in.
