Crashing and burning.

At least my writing skills are up to scratch, because I'm fairly certain that's the only aspect of the interview I've just returned from that was a success. I've bought a custard crown to console myself, I've never had a worse interview. I already know the response/lack of.
"Ruth is a nice girl, who will be a great success in her life, but she's just not what we're looking for." The interview was through a customer at my mum's restaurant, it's so embarrassing.
It's fairly obvious why in terms of this role (a costs administrator), but it really is the story of my life for the last four months. I was told in this interview that were I to be going for a photography role, I would get it because my experience is awesome, I felt like blurting out, 'WELL THAT ISN'T THE CASE IS IT?!', but I wish it was...

The thing is, I am looking forward to being a picture desk intern, I really am, I can't think of any job that I have applied for that's come up that I've wanted more and I'm so happy I seem to have got it. However, the fact of the matter is, I need to sustain myself financially too and working for expenses isn't going to cut it forever. I'm seriously banking on this being a whirlwind and worthwhile experience.
"Over-qualified photographer and all-round nice girl seeks run-of-the-mill job to buy Christmas presents for family and justify buying an iPad."
My last attempt at freelancing is placing my new (and sexy) business cards on Supermarket noticeboards. I need to go to a networking event, I'm definitely over being intimidated.

Linkin Park 'do' 'Rolling in the Deep'.

Last night at the iTunes Festival, Chester from Linkin Park took the opportunity to show off his vocal skills and perform a cover of Adele's hit single, 'Rolling in the Deep'. If you've never heard this song, you have obviously been underground/under a rock (etc) because it has been everywhere. Glee covered it, not that I watch Glee, but the point is, Glee covered it so everyone loves it. Even before it was on Glee, it was on the radio every 10 minutes and used in every other advert. So, it's a pretty big surprise that a band like Linkin Park would cover it. They famously denied their 'nu-metal' label and kind of disappeared for a bit. I'm fairly certain their back though, and if not anything, this cover will certainly gain them some new fans in the way of angsty 'Gleeks' ready to 'tear away from the mainstream'.

One thing is for certain, there was never any doubt that Chester could probably sing better than Adele anyway. Just go ahead, take yourself back to your early-teens and embrace it.

Edit: You can now download Linkin Park's version of 'Rolling in the Deep' from iTunes for 99p.

Additional Whitemare.

I think I've de-stressed myself, so it's back to work for this week and I hope I don't have another stupid episode.
I've planned to get my RDB out the way this week and to carry on with my dissertation right up until the hand-in. Pff.
So anyway, here are some photos left over from the 'Whitemare', all the snow is gone now but it is expected to get colder again this week, so we might be back where we started by the end of the week.
I really hope I'm able to get home with no hassle because I'm kind of looking forward to going home now.

Busted out some Christmas songs. I quite like Boy Least Likely To's Christmas album, out of loyalty and the tinkly noise they make, but also because their single from the album, 'George and Andrew' is a great idea with a great video. If Cher wins X Factor, everyone should buy this to boycott her.

I know I said that I should put 'stop making to-do lists' on my to-do list, but right now I think I really need them.

Bain of my life.

I know it's probably just a coincidence, but if this email was meant specifically for me, I bet the person who drew it up was pissing themselves.
Never had this before.....

I have quite a few photos to put up but I woke up too late to justify putting them up today and I had quite a bit to do too. I slept so badly last night, and I retail therapied myself this afternoon - very disspointed that my dissertation didn't really get off to a flying start today but there's the rest of the evening, even if it is really annoying that the Athens login for journals doesn't seem to be working.
I'm still in a better position than most and my draft deadline isn't until next Thursday anyway; still, getting it done would be great because I wouldn't have to come back to it after Paris, which is only 4 days away!!!

Sorry, bank account.

Well, actually I'm not sorry, I just picked these up from Urban Outfitters for £10, from £80, they're not my favourite colour but it was too good a bargain and they actually had them in my size! I think I might have found the right shoes for my Halloween costume. Unless of course I get buyers remorse/find something better before then and send them back. Plus Dr. Martens take ages and ages to wear in :\
I think UO must have realised the 'too good to be true' offer as they've now been pulled and I can't even find them, unless they were the last pair...

Look at this cat!

This cat lives down my road in New Malden, it has a weird meow and just look at it's face. It's super friendly, I kind of like it, it has character. ♥

Indeed...

I love this show, it's a shame there are only six episodes, I wish there were 20 like American sitcoms.
There's so little good TV on but the good ones are really good, kind of makes up for Big Brother and the constant repeats of Anchorman on BBC3.

Pixar VS Dreamworks.

I always thought that Pixar was somehow better than Dreamworks in terms of overall quality but I couldn't ever tell you why, I now know why, thanks to whoever did this. My mind was blown.

Goal for today; Pack.
Then update website some more.
