Halloween memories.

As I've mentioned, this is the first Halloween that I've not done anything in three years. It's very strange, I wonder how many other post-uni graduates feel a slight remorse for Halloween. Hometowns never are the same as Unitowns and what about all those great friends?

Anyway, I thought I would share a selection of photos with you from the last three years. I quite like dressing up, but I'll admit the lack of imagination for last year, I was supposed to be a bat, but basically just went all out with fake blood instead.

Carol Vargas also has an awesome series on her Flickr called 'Legs in the Air' but I like this 'Noah's Ark - Animal's Meeting' set the best because it's pretty inspiring in relation to my 'in my head' dressing up box project that I might possibly do next semester.
Although finding stuff like this just affirms the fact that creatively, I am almost completely unoriginal, even if I find the photos after my own idea.

I also found this at Mint Magazine, made me laugh out loud, it's kind of funny how these are just suddenly trendy, but it makes me feel mega-cool for having one this time last year and it wasn't even from kigu.co.uk, amateurs.

Still going with the costume thing for the editorial project, have a couple of people who have said they would model for me when I need them, I just wish I needed them now rather than later, I feel like I'm behind, despite the fact I know that there are a lot of people who haven't done anything yet.
There is a halfway crit/show on 10th March, nervous(!!!)

I'm actually enjoying watching 90210, it is so stupid, and why does a black guy have white parents?

I watched Paris, Je T'aime last night, it's lots of different love stories within the setting of Paris. It's really good and has lots of well-known actors in, from Steve Buscemi to Gerard Depardieu, I'm really surprised that it didn't have a wider theatrical release.
I thought that this story about mimes, could be translated into a studio shoot for my editorial piece, but I guess I can work that one out.

I have come up with two possible practical proposals for next year, it's a toss up between being half-Chinese and looking at other people who are half-Chinese and how they feel about it, or a more fly-on-the-wall style documentary series about 'binge drinking culture'. I prefer the first idea but I can only really think of 5 half-Chinese people off the top of my head, including myself, so it's something I'd really need to seek out for. Apart from anything, my first idea is much less dangerous, I'm not sure how much I fancy braving Guildhall walk on my own.

This is a video I took of the guitarist/tambourinist of The Drums on the NME Radar Tour on Thursday, they were much better than I expected, so 'New York' and interesting to watch. The Big Pink were impressive and The Maccabees were great as usual. Bombay Bicycle Club were very disappointed and I don't see what the hype surrounding them is at all.

Last night was 'OAP dress up night' @ Waster, I kind of dressed how I normally do, I don't even really buy stuff from charity shops anymore. Kind of looked like Ugly Betty before I put my hair up, that was pretty odd.
Apparently the glasses I was wearing were pretty shit-hot though, judging from the reaction that got... eugh.

Anyway, here are some photos I took of Moon and Long with my SLR before we went out, mainly because they had good costumes (no one else was dressed up anyway). I also wanted to test out my flash gun.

The exhibition preparation stuff is going pretty well at the moment, I'm not too bothered that not everyone is turning up to the meetings because at least I am... I get to do the rough designs for the invitations. :)
Brief 2-wise, I've yet to start, I think I'm meant to write a proposal, I have 3 in mind.. I'll write all three, I suppose.
